  • VSL-SE Woodwinds vibrato?

Hello, I have the intro Woodwinds Special Edition and don't see a way to control Vibrato speed/depth, e.g. Flute?  Would I have to upgrade to be able to do this, or is there a way to do that with Velocity XFade?

    Hello eboats,

All instruments in the Special Editions come with vibrato, but of course there are more variations available with the bigger Single Instrument, also with progressive vibrato, see the Sample Content of Flute 1.

You CAN use Slot Xfade for quick changes between vibrato and non-vibrato, but with single instruments, this can be tricky because of phasing. That's also why we have recorded a variation with progressive vibrato for many instruments (also the flute).

    Best,

  • Thanks for the info Paul.  In the Woodwinds SE edition (with free Vienna Instruments 5 player), I don't see any general or slotX param (or CC) that controls Vibrato depth or speed?  For example, I'm using the Flute sus sample and not sure if I can control how much vibrato or speed for it?

So are you saying I'd need to upgrade to the Single instrument or full edition to get control over Vibrato?

  • You can't control the vibrato. But there is a progressive vibrato sample which you can modify with stretching if you have the VI Player Pro.
