  • 2 IDENTICAL systems, VE sees different plugins on slave rig

Hey guys, I have two IDENTICAL rigs for protools and VE pro slave. On the slave rig, sometimes VE 'sees' some plugs and sometimes it doesn't. Mainly waves and slate trigger. Anyone has a solution?

  • Hi Lior,

I have now contacted my colleagues at Waves, to see wether they can provide an explanation for this behaviour - I will let you know by email as soon as I heard back from them.

    Thanks for your patience!

    Best, Marnix

  • I am attempting to get waves plugins to work as well. The shells show up in the scan but the only plugin that shows up is the free VU meter. Everyone in the forums says something about shell2vst. I can not get what they are explaining to work. Please keep me posted as well.

    Thank you

Update I got waves plugins to work in Windows 10 with VE Pro 6 using the forum entry below. At first I overlooked pacman's download link. Once I downloaded and installed shell2vst64.exe I had to right click it, select properties, select compatiblity, and then I clicked run this program as an administrator. Then I followed pacmans instructions below. This also works for other waves shells that pacman does not mention.

yes, just place WaveShell-VST 9.6_x64.dll & WaveShell-VST 9.7_x64.dll onto shell2vst64.exe and a folder called 'Waves' will be produced: inside will be the plugins you have purchased and you may move these to where ever is most convenient. Hope this clarifies. Shell2, 32bit and 64bit is available at  http://www.xlutop.com/buzz/zip/shell2vst.zip
