  • How do you get Vienna Audition Credit Player to Work in DAW?

How do you get the vienna audition player to work in your daw? It says in the description: "Use your mouse, a MIDI keyboard, or your sequencer/notation program." However, there is no VST.

  • Hi, I haven't used the vienna audition player for myself, but what I see in the description, I think you can use your DAW through a virtual midi cable (such as Loopmidi, which is free for personal use ). If you set in your DAW in "midi out" a "loopmidi port", and select in "preferences" of the vienna audition player in midi device the same loopmidi port, then you can play a midi file in your DAW and it will be played in the vienna audition player. I hope this will help.

In the DAW I use I have to select first in the program preferences at "Midi Out" the Loopmidi port that I want to use and after that I have to select this Loopmidi port in the track where the midi notes are, that I want to play in the vienna audition player.

  • Thanks for the help and info MMKA. I tried the Loopmidi, but all I get is an awful loud sound as if the instruments are being pushed beyond clipping point. I'm using Sonar 8.5, and I'm wasting audiiton credit time trying to get this to work. :( I don't have a midi keyboard, and I really want to hear how chords sound for both the Vienna Choir and the Apassionata Strings on PFP 4. Sadly, this eliminates the mouse since I can only click on one note at a time.

    Regards,
    Richard

  • And does it work, lowering the expression cc (cc11)? When you have used that cc in the midi file in Sonar, you have to lower that there. When you have no cc11 in the midi file you can adjust the slider in vienna audition player.

Another possibility: I don't know if cc7 (volume) works in vienna audition player, but is that the solution?

Another thought: lowering the volume control of your soundcard...

and when you try things out with 2 or 3 notes, you lose as little time as possible.

    Good luck!

  • and of course you can send also a request for help to support@vsl.co.at

  • I have constantly a 500ms latency when using the Audition Credit Player, and I think it's standalone application only.

  • I encountered this latency issue some time ago. For me, it was quite useless for auditioning and I stopped using the audition player.

Are there some tips for improving the latency?

  • At the bottom right where it shows the latency, click on it and you can change the latency settings. I set mine to 150 which worked a lot better. Unfortuneatly, I coldn't get the DAW to work properly with the audition player though.
