Just set up a new Mac Pro, 12 core 2.7GHz Xeon E5-2697v2 with 64GB RAM, 1.0TB SSD
I had been running VE Pro over ethernet from a Mac Mini, with all the VSL samples on the internal drives of the Mini. Is it best to still go external with this new machine or would it work well (or better) to keep everything on the MacPro? Feels like 12 cores and 64GB RAM should prevent the CPU ceiling that led me to VEP and the ethernet server set up in the first place but I don't know.
If I should still use an external for streaming library audio, what's best? USB3/7200RPM ok or would I do better with thunderbolt a/o SSD?
Thanks!
John
