  • VI StandAlone & Directory Manager

    Hello everyone,

I bought a new computer, a MacBook Pro 13 2018 running OSX 10.13 High Sierra. When I try running the standalone version of VI or the Directory Manager I get a screen saying: "...cannot be opened because of a problem". I'll try and attach a screenshot to this post.

The plugin is running fine within ProTools and Studio One. So it has probably got something to do with the OS? 64/32-bit issue perhaps?

    Help greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Peter

  • Hi,

You can send the text of the crash report to support@vsl.co.at for us to check,

A simple workaround is to use Vienna Instruments with the included Vienna Ensemble Standalone Host.

    Best,
    Paul

  • I contacted Tech Support and got a reply within an our or so, hats off for VSL!

They recommended uninstalling the software via the uninstaller (on Mac it's located in Applications/Vienna Instruments, it doesn't show up in the Launchpad) and reinstall the latest version of the software (v6.0.16999). They told me to also install Vienna Ensemble because then important components are also installed.

    That did the trick.
