  • Velocity x-fade per patch

    Hello,

I'll explain what I'm trying to do and hopefully it's enough:

Say that I have a matrix with 2 cells (keyswitch) , First one is sustain and the second one is staccato. What I normally do with other libraries (and my guess is that most people do this as well) - is that I use midi cc 1 to control dynamics  on sustained notes, and velocity to control the dynamics on short notes.

Now, I'm very new to VI Pro, but so far the only way I found to do this is by automating the velocity xfade on/off button with some arbitrary midi cc AND do the keyswitch as well.

Is there any way to get around this, and make it so whenever I'm in the stacatto patch, velocity will control the dynamic, while on the sustained patch, midi cc 1 will?

    Thank you!

  • Yes

  • I guess it all depends on your style of writing, playing, programming, etc. but, with VSL, I find it easier to just leave the Vel X fade on and do the staccs with Vel X Fade.
