  • New installed VEPro unable to see any Instrument plug-ins

I have two PCs. I've successfully installed VEPro 7 onto the new PC where it sees Kontakt just fine [and I've been using that]. On the old PC I just relaced an older version on VEPro [which also saw and addressed Kontakt just fine] with VEPro 7. On this PC the new VEPro 7 sees no instrument plg-ins even when I try scanning for them under Preferences. This is odd as the older version  saw them just fine.

What's wrong? What can I do? VEPro7 in this computer is useless to me unless I can have it scan and see and address Kontakt.

  • Hi Sacksmusic,

That's unusual... but maybe something changed in your VST Plug-in folders? Did you check that those are assigned correctly, in the VE Pro Preferences?

  • This is what I get in the VST plug-in folders when I try rescanning in VEPro in PC1. [I'm also attaching how it looks in VEPro on P2].  I don't know what else to do to get VEPro in the first PC to see any VST instruments.

  • Hi,

You should add the right VST Plug-in folders right there, and it will work!

  • How? If I click on Add Favorite, nothing happens. It sees nothing and it adds nothing - as if there are no VST plugins on the computer [and there are - the old VEPro saw and addressed them]

  • Hi,

When you click "Add Folder", a window should open that lets you navigate to the location of your VST plug-in folders. Doesn't it?

  • But it doesn't. I click on it multiple times and nothing happens, no window opening, nothing.

    Hi Sacksmusic,

    Please try this:

    - Uninstall Vienna Ensemble Pro 7

    - Restart the computer

    - Install the latest version of VE Pro 7

If all of this doesn't help, please contact me via support@vsl.co.at.

  • I had to figure out where the VST libraries were and add those folders, so now it's working fine.

  • Hi,

So that means everything is working for you? Great!

  • one last thing [now that VEPro is up and running on the PC properly], I want to get the BBC Orchestra but since the sequencer I use is in a slightlyn older MAC, I mwant to be sure that I can load up the BBC Orch library in VEPro on the PC so it can addressed by my sequencer on the MAC. Can that happen?

  • Hi, Sacksmusic,

If you are running macOS 10.10 or higher, I don't see what speaks against it.
