  • VEPRO, VST3, Program Change

    Hi,

I had to discover that there are problems with VST3 plugins and Program Change. I have a virtual instrument requiring Program Change messages to change sound/technique, and it doesn't work when hosted in VEPRO as a VST3 plugin.

The same virtual instrument works fine in Logic, with VEPRO as an AU plugin.

Is there any hope this compatibility issue between VST3 and Program Change to be resolved? I see this was already reported to Steinberg years ago.

As an alternative, do you think there is a way to use VEPRO as a VST2 plugin, instead of VST3, in Dorico? I also plan to use Synchron Player with Dorico, so I wonder if it can work flawlessly in VEPRO as a VST2 plugin.

  • Yes, just add Vienna Ensemble Pro x64. to the VST2 white list.

Dorico, Notion, Sibelius, StudioOne, Cubase, Staffpad VE Pro, Synchon, VI, Kontakt Win11 x64, 64GB RAM, Focusrite Scarlett 18i20, August Forster 190
  • Thank you Bill. On the Mac it is a bit different, because they both appear as "Vienna Ensemble Pro". But the first one in the list, I could see after some tests, is the VST2 version.
