  • Level balance VI pro and Synchron

    Hi there,

I'm trying to balance VI solo strings and the new Synchronized solo strings. With equivalent settings, the VI version is way louder than the Synchronized. Checking with the standalone versions, the difference is already considerable. When I use them in Dorico, I need to max out the synchronized volume and lower nearly to the floor the VI one (I repeat that all settings are equivalent : same xmap, same level of expression and velocity xf, and comparing an identical musical extract copy-pasted from one line to the other).

Anybody experiencing the same thing? Is it built-in this way?

    Cheers

  • Hi Vox,

Our Synchron Series is designed to fit in volume, balance and placement, out of the box. So the SYNCHRON-ized Solo Violin is in an authentic relation to the biggest percussion instruments of our Synchron Percussion I.

Could it be that you missed the volume knob on top of the Synchron Player interface?

    Best,
    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

Yes I know the Synchron project is prebalanced and it's a great thing. My question is how does synchron balances with VI. The solo strings are the only one I own on both edition and the gain difference seems quite striking to me. And no, it's not the Knoblein.

    Cheers,

    Vox

  • Hi Vox,

I hope I understood your question the first time. The answer is: The volume is much lower. I don't know how else to explain it.
