Duplicate tracks loading

After solving a problem with e-Licenser (thanks), I now have a bizarre problem with loading up Vienna Ensemble.

I load up an Instance, called Strings, with 9 tracks, including Master. Then I load up Sibelius Ultimate with the score using Strings. Vienna Ensemle responds by reloading Strings, but this time with 18 tracks, including two Masters. Everything is duplicated. I delete the duplicated tracks and save the Instance as it was before with only 9 tracks.

I tried the same procedure, and it happened again.

Now I try loading Sibelius first, followed by Vienna Ensemble. The Instance loads up correctly, but this time I need to connect Sibelius to the Instant, and as soon as I do, VE reloads the Instance with all the duplicated tracks.

What is causing this?

In addition to the above, each time I load up I have to make changes which had been previously made and saved. Every time the Bassi reverb has been disabled, needing to be re-enabled. Also the MIRx is at the Berlin Teldec, when it should be the Vienna Konzerthaus. It's like been caught in a loop, with no escape.

Hello Philip!

This sounds like you didn't save your Sibelius playback configuration. Sibelius saves scores and playback configurations in separate files. Whenever you change something in your playback configuration (including all loaded instruments), please save your Sibelius playback configuration. To play safe, I always save the Sibelius Playback Configuration, before I exit Sibelius.

Best regards,
Andi

That fixed it. Good idea to always save the Playback Configuration every time, even if nothing has changed. I also went to Preferences in Sibelius to make sure Sibelius always loads in General Midi. It’s something I had done before, but when upgrading to Sibelius Ultimate, I had forgotten to select again.
