  • Opus Bundle upgrade question

Not to beat a dead horse, but I'm still trying to afford the maximum amount of VSL's woodwinds while having to buy as few frills as possible.

    I crafted the following plan:

I'll purchase the Opus 1 and 2 bundle and the Vienna Oboe now. And later, after my bank account recovers a bit, purchase the Pro Edition Winds/Brass. That'd give me MOST of the woodwinds I'm after as well as many nifty additions (which although not necessary will be certainly welcome). My question then is according to the discount calculator I'd get no discount on the Pro Winds/Brass from the Opus 1 and 2 Bundle even though there'd be a significant overlap between the two products (about 28-30% of Opus 1 alone appears on the Pro Edition Winds/Brass). Surely there must be SOME discount on the Pro Edition Winds/Brass for owners of the Opus Bundle.

  • Dear Musica42,

From the Opus Bundle as an orchestral product you can only upgrade to the Complete Orchestral Package of the Pro Edition as an orchestral product. The samples included in the Bundle are not only taken from the Brass and Woodwinds Module of the Pro Edition but more than half of it from the Performance Set. Going to the Brass and Woodwindsmodule from the Bundle would be no good deal for you - this is why there is no upgradepath. The French Oboe is not included in the Pro Edition and has no influence to the price of the Pro Edition.

    Regards,
    Anna

  • I'm trying to find a compromise between product and price that is good for me. I simply can not afford to drop nearly $3000 for the winds/brass module and the performance set of the pro edition. If I went the route of purchasing the OPUS bundle and the winds/brass module, that'd give me MOST of what I'm after for significantly less. After all I'm really only interested in the performance legato patches and the winds/brass module.

I realize the future success of VSL won't even flinch if I don't purchase anything, but this is now twice that I've been deterred from purchasing your products because of the way they're packaged/sold. While my eventual purchase of the OPUS BUNDLE is inevitable, the rest of your products seem to be perpetually marketed to allude me.
