  • Naming of imported Instances In VEP7 Server

Hi, i have a little but unconfortable problem:

in a VEP7  Server Project,  i create a new Instance "Untitled" with the plus icon. Then I import (in this new created  instance) the configuration from a saved instance from my HD (with "Instance/Open Project..."). It imports correctly but the name of my Instance remains "Untitled".

My QUESTION: there is the possibility that when I import Instancies, the name of the originally saved Instance will be imported too? It is not comfortable to have to rename manually the new imported instancies. I hope someone knows a trick, or maybe can be a suggestion for further updates?

I love using VEP7!!! Thank you.

    Hi Christian,

    Thanks for the kind feedback!

The instance name is always a temporary name, while your SAVED project is capturing a certain state of your VE Pro project.

That's why we have to separate those names, more details available in the manual!

  • Thank you, Paul!

It makes sense. I am just learning, and such fast reply makes the learning curve much easier :-)

It means that if I SAVE a Server Project, or a Project (Instance) in Vep7, I don´t have to worry to have the SAVED IN VEP7 datas be over-wrighted in their Channels or other saved items, from the DAW incoming request (that with the fat down arrow that sometimes appears in Vep7)?

Where can I learn the better strategy to accept or deny the incoming request from the fat down arrow request to accept or deny incoming DAW things? Thank you a lot!

I will post other question in separate treads.

Have a nice day, and: I love using vep7 (did I say that already?)  :-)

    Best.

    Hi Christian,

Happy to hear that you like VE Pro 7!

If you are working in COUPLED mode, your sequencer will save all VE Pro related data and push it to VE PRO, as soon as you open a song.

You can adapt the behaviour of the arrow (inconing project data behaviour) in the VE Pro Preferences.

If you KNOW that you have the right VE Pro loaded, your sequencer will not have to push the data.

More information about Preserve / Decouple is available here.

    Best,
    Paul
