  • Problem with perf legato Saxophones 1

    Hello

I ve got a problem with perf legato and sax 1. The sound is strange: notes are too much legato and it make a strange and awful reverb. they are little bends too [:O]ops: When I try to setup performance tool (sax legato is loaded in), it has got no effect.
I run the progams on Kontakt.
    Can someone help me?

Excuse me for my poor english level

    From France,

    Jean

  • Hallo Jean,

did you register your saxophones product on the VSL site and did you download the right performance tool? (for horizon products)
it seems to me that your performance tool does not function at all!

    Jacques

  • Hello Jacques.

Thanks for your help. Yes my product is registered and my VSL tool is 2.11 for Horizon on pc. No problem!! I setup the tool on "hor perf legato", load the right preset, setup the tool and the sequencer for midi with marple. The only soprano perf leg that is working right is the pianissimo. Others are bending on some notes.....strange [:O]ops: [:O]ops: For the tenor sax it's ok. But I play real acoustic tenor sax!!!! I need a cool soprano VSL that is working. [6]

  • This has been one of the most debated issues ever - and very heated debates. Conclusion is that VSL claim that the soprano sax is like that by design. Many people have voiced their disapointment with it, including myself (andI consider myself a knight of VSL) - but unfortunatly VSL dont see a problem with it.

    Hello Christian!!

[:O]ops: [8o|] [8o|] I've played Yanagisawa Soprano saxophone during six years... VSL is wrong!!!!! I bought VSL sax for playing in the night with wind controller, and play soprano because I sold my yani. So I m very [:@] [8o|] Very bad commercial policy [:O]ops: for the soprano... Especially that the tenor is so good!!

  • Please, gentlemen, stop the devils.

We are of course trying our best to give you what you want and need. This takes a little time, as we have to (and want to) cover so many wishes.

    Best, Paul

  • [6] are only for the style Paul, don't worry [[[;)]]] And because it's really not cool that Perf leg Sop isn't work totally well!! Because VSL sax is the best on the market: expressive and realistic.

So good work on the soprano and the future Sax vol2 [:)]

  • Janosax-
You are correct - there is definetely a problem with the soprano sax legato which renders it basically useless for most applications. I voiced my opinion (as did many others) and VSL claims that it is impossible to fix this problem (according to Herb.) Go here to see the debate over this problem: http://community.vsl.co.at/viewtopic.php?t=2536&highlight=soprano+sax&sid=1871a40cb194587ccf843e9437a98e59">http://community.vsl.co.at/viewtopic.php?t=2536&highlight=soprano+sax&sid=1871a40cb194587ccf843e9437a98e59
I was actually banned from the VSL forum for a few months for what I said in this thread. Pretty amazing, considering some of the language and insults that are allowed by other members! (I didn't swear or insult anyone.)

  • Hello mvanbebber!
The thread on your link was a little bit strange [[:|]] I agree with you: users can express their frustration: this is their liberty. And we can be angry about a patch: perf leg f is one of the most interesting, and don't work like a real sax (we've got ears)!!! The thread has been moderate, so I don't read extrems words, but insults are a pity, of course. [8o|] is an icon, just a way for funny expression on the web. So Keep cool [:D] I understand of course that VSL has got a lot of work. But update imperfect patchs is a priority, I think, rather than create new products. For buyers satisfaction of course, and their fidelity [[[;)]]] I played soprano sax during six years, and always play tenor: when this horn is played at up tempo-legato, they are no portamento effects!!!... of course. So I don't understand VSL. The interest of perf leg f is to play at any tempo. Looped patch is perfect for low tempos and very long notes, but not fluid at up tempo. Here is the interest of a perf leg I think. I sold my yanagisawa soprano few years ago, because of money problems, and Sax 1 was a solution for me to play sop with WX5 controller. So it's a frustration, because a saxist, and others, always search the impressions of a real saxophone playing. Legato is the hardest to reproduce on sampled intruments. Performance tool is revolutionnary, so deception is big for the sop.
But saxophones vol 1 is wonderful, and is the best of the world for me. So I hope you, Paul and others, consider seriously in the future our remarks.

Expression of Frustration is a human reaction...and I don't want to be a robot!!! [[[;)]]]

    Best, Jean

  • I've read that Saxophone 2 will contain the alto and baryton sax (of course) ... and more patches for the soprano (and maybe the tenor ?)

Don't worry ... I'm pretty sure we'll have a big surprise later this year.

  • 1 582 191 samples up to date ... it's certainly a good new [;)]

  • Yooooooooooooo!

    Yes it's a very good new. [:D]

    Thank you

Go away, bother somebody else. You are not wanted here. I don't find you amusing or witty or (insert any positive adjective here).

  • [*-)]: do you speak about the soprano perf leg in these posts?? [*-)]
I think that all these stories are a waste of time, although I am new member and don't know the forum history.

    Keep cool [:D]
