He's back! I wondered what you had been up to and I'm pleased to find that you have been busily creating piano-and-whatever tunes. I've always thought that recitalists would be the folks most open to your music. Can you imagine being, say, a French horn soloist and simply having to play the 2nd Mozart Horn Concerto at every gig until you die? The chance to learn a new piece that has plenty of challenge and is still accessible to an audience would seem to be pretty attractive. This piece is great! It kind of reminds me of the Halsey Stevens, but very much in your voice. Thanks, BTW, for hipping me to Bandcamp. I have listened to Aria's Dance so far and will check out anything else I have not heard. Wishing all all the best to you and your family.

Hi Tom,

I am grateful for your support and encouraging words.  The truth is, my absence on the forum owed to my battle with the perennial composer-life tropes of the 3 Ds: disenchantment, despair, and depression.  I continued to write through this period, but felt uncompelled to partake in forum talk, knowing how in the past, such discussions have often led to conflict...over music (which just seems ridiculous to me!)  In any case, one can't remain an island forever, and I approach sharing music with those that may enjoy it, as the very purpose for writing it in the first place.

It was actually William Kersten that pointed me to Bandcamp, which I previously thought was exclusively for mainstream forms of music (it really is, actually, but I'm hoping to at least get a few followers out of it!)

Your suggestion re. recitalists is likely true, although I have mixed feelings about that, if only because there are so many connotations attached to the idea of "recitalist vs. audience."  In other words, often the repertoire that recitalists would like to perform for their own personal and artistic reasons is not as readily absorbed/digested by the audience.  Oh well, as Mike Hewer once wrote on this forum, "we're going to write what we're going to write." :)
