  • Question re routing from a VEP instance

I have a Digital Performer project which has 50 MIDI tracks connected to 4 VEP instances. I am trying to figure out how to bounce the MIDI tracks to 50 separate audio tracks, but DP bounces all tracks in each of the 4 instances so I wind up with 4 stems rather than 50 (which my client wishes in order to do his own mix). Sound confusing? It is to me too.

I wonder if there is a way to route each instrument within a VEP instance to an individual output so I can tell DP to bounce the midi tracks separately.  I'm trying to avoid having to bounce each track on its own which means I would have to do 50 bounces one at a time. Since the project is just over 8 minutes this is very time consuming.

Just hoping someone can suggest a more expeditious way to proceed. THANKS

  • Hi Paul R,

You can of course route each channel to different outputs in VE Pro, provided that you enabled enough outputs per instance in the VE Pro Server Preferences - please see the routing instructions for DP at https://www.vsl.info/en/manuals/vep7/notes-for-digital-performer#digital-performer, assigning the outputs is shown all the way at the bottom!

  • Thanks, Marnix.  Looks like this might be the best bet.
