  • Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 MAS Plugin is super slow

I updated to Vienna Ensemble Pro 7.1.1384 last week and it caused huge problems that slow everything down. Basically, everytime I hit save, I get a spinning beach ball and have to wait over 30 seconds before I can continue to work. So I updated to 7.1.1390 hoping it would solve the problem, but it remained. I rolled back to 7.1.1380, which seems more stable, though it still takes quite a while to save.

I'm using an M1 Mac Studio, which forced me to upgrade VEP to iLok, and running Digital Performer 11.11 in Rosetta. Anyone know how to fix this issue, I'm feeling like I'm falling behind on deadlines due to all the time I'm wasting while waiting for the spinning beachball to go away.

I am having the exact same issue, but with 7.1.1395 in Windows and DP 10.13 64bit.

I loaded up an old project that was working pretty well before. Now, with the new version (iLok) and MIR 3D, it seems something changed. I get the loading icon whenever I save the project in DP and I also get it whenever I enable a cell that was disabled in VEP.

  • Out of curiosity, did updating VEP somehow enable "coupled" instances?  - which can DRAMATICALLY increase save times depending on your templates.  Or are you seeing this beach ball everytime you save with your VEP instances UN-coupled??

  • In my case, it happens whenever DP saves or auto-saves. By "coupled instances" do you mean the "Preserve instances" Option?
