In my VEPro7 I have four folders, Winds, Brass, Perc and Strings, and I want to know how to apply an automated volume controller to these ?
Presumably using the MIDI controllers? The MIDI driving the VIs is from my DAW Digital Performer 11.2.
But I can't find anything in the manual?

Actually it doesn't It doesn't seem to relate to my DAW DP 11; The MIDI controllers tab options only include the instrument channels, not the folder channel, which is the volume slider I am seeking to automate? I can select the folder channel from the Paremeters tab options, but then there is no means of connecting it to a MIDI channel in my DAW?

It's been a while since I used DP myself, so I can't help you here directly, but at least there's a section in VE Pro's manual dedicated to this host:
