Hi there,

I've been using VI for years and my usual process was to load a few VE instances, each assigned to 1-2 orchestral sections, I'd use VE as a mixing platform in conjunction with the actual Cubase mixer. The built in panner made a lot of sense 'cause the Special Edition needed manual panning as you all know and VE saved me from loading Vienna PowerPan on each channel.

I am now building a BBO template and I am really tempted to just load the Synchron Player as an individual instrument track for each instrument, 'cause the instruments are already panned and Synchron Player has plenty of built-in mixing features so VE would just require extra routing in this case.

I understand that my use of VE is really basic and it can do a lot more than that, also I'm not sending work to a secondary machine but I just wanted to check if I'm missing something important here before I start refining my new working templates.

Many thanks

Francesco

Hi Francesco,

Nothing wrong with loading individual Synchron Player instances into VE and continuing working with your familiar workflow. Maybe this is a good time to download a demo of VE Pro 7 to evaluate all three approaches. The most significant advantages of VE & VE Pro are resource management and its multiprocessing capabilities. But that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Hi Andreas,

Thanks so much for your reply.

I see what you mean, also you're right I'm gonna have to try VE Pro sooner or later. :-)

All the best

Francesco
