1.[SOLVED] HELP! BFD2 Problem in 64 bit instance of VE Pro 5 1/12/2013 6:21:59 PM

Samadhi,

That worked! Thank you for the quick reply.

Best to you and your music, my friend!

2.Help. Pro Tools MIDI triggering issue with VE Pro 5 1/12/2013 11:07:27 AM

Help. When I assign midi channels in pro tools for corresponding VE Pro instruments, I have multiple instument tracks triggering even if I assign dscrete MIDI channels and discrete output assignments for each instrument. Very strange behavior. Only happens when I go from one instrument track in Pro Tools to the next and then when I cycle back, I go to one instrument track and all VE Pro instruments get triggered. Does not seem to be Pro Tools. Seems to be VE Pro 5 (build 11947) doing it. I have a Macbook Pro master and Mac Mini slave. Both latest i7 Macs with 16GB RAM each and Mountain Lion 10.8.2. Thanks!

3.[SOLVED] HELP! BFD2 Problem in 64 bit instance of VE Pro 5 1/12/2013 11:02:44 AM

Help! I just updated to the latest build of VE Pro 5 (build 11947). In the build before this, as well as this build, in 64 bit mode only, when I launch BFD2, the cursor does not work when I want to load or save kits. When I click "load", it opens the load drop down menu but does not allow me to click on anything in the drop down menu. It works fine in a 32 bit instance of VE Pro 5, and works fine in the standalone version of BFD2 64 bit. Anyone else have this issue or have a solution? I have a Mac Mini, latest one, 2.3Ghz i7 with 16GB RAM running OSX 10.8.2.

Thanks in advance!

4.Help! VE Pro, Kontakt 3.5 and Mac Power PC Question 1/26/2011 7:34:58 PM

Gerd,

Thanks again for the informative feedback. My PCI slots are rated as 64 Bit, but I guess that does not necessarily mean that is has 64 bit architecture under the hood. Yeah, so I guess I'm stuck, unless anyone else has any insight. I am not in a position to spend money on RAM unless I can actually take full advantage of it in my composing scenario. I appreciate the time spent advising me.

Let me know if any other thoughts come up.

Best,

Niyi

5.Help! VE Pro, Kontakt 3.5 and Mac Power PC Question 1/26/2011 6:00:43 AM

Gerd,

Thank you for the fast reply. Looks like you have the G5 2.3GHz that came out late 2005. Mine maxes out at 8GB. However, I am clear on some things. On others, no. For example, I have 4.5GB RAM installed. When I launch Kontakt 3.5 in VE Pro, in the memory page of Kontakt, it says that the maximum RAM it can use out of the 4.5GB is 3.0GB. So since you have 16GB of RAM, how much RAM does Kontakt report is available for use on your system? So my question is, now that Kontakt 3.5 is telling me it can only use 3GB of my 4.5GB RAM, will that amount available for use increase from 3GB to a higher number once I install more RAM on my G5?

Thanks for your time and insight,

Niyi

6.Help! VE Pro, Kontakt 3.5 and Mac Power PC Question 1/26/2011 1:56:29 AM

Hello. I have an Apple G5 Dual 2.3GHz Power PC (Early 2005 edition) in OS 10.5.8 as a slave computer for Vienna. It has 4.5GB RAM. I am thinking of upgrading it to 8GB RAM because it can still run Kontakt 3.5 in the Vienna host. Before I spend the money to upgrade the RAM, does anyone know if the fact that VE Pro cannot address 8GB in 32 bit Server mode will get in the way of Kontakt 3.5 addressing all 8GB RAM, since contact is being used not as standalone, but inside the VE Pro host? According to Native Instruments, Kontakt 3.5 apparently works the same way both in standalone mode and inside the Vienna host, and in fact, is able to address all 8GB RAM in my system despite the fact that VE Pro in 32 bit mode cannot. Can anyone confirm first, if Kontakt's Memory Server mode can work on a Power PC and second, if within the VE Pro host, I can actually still take advantage of my extra RAM via Kontakt.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

7.Help - PLAY Workaround 3/19/2010 5:06:23 PM

Hello. I have Windows XP Home Edition running Pro Tools M-Powered 8.0.3. When you right click on the Pro Server Icon, it does not say "Run as administrator". It just says "Run as...". And none of the options under "run as" say "administrator". On my system, I am the administrator, so when I use the "Run as", it gives me 2 options. One option is to run as the current user. The other is to run as "the following user", and it gives me the option to choose the Administrator account and then I log in. After this, Vienna launches but as soon as I put PLAY into it, it crashed right away. Any ideas? Thanks.
