1.VEPRO and Apple Silicon M1 8/17/2021 7:11:49 PM

I guess I don't really see the urgency for M1 support, at least in it's current state.  Since RAM is built into the CPU and isn't upgradable, the biggest M1 you can get is 16GB.  If the main advantage of VE Pro is to be able to use more RAM than you can with either one server (or in the case of Kontakt on ProTools, to get large sample sets out of ProTools), then 16GB isn't nearly enough to justify use of VE Pro.

2.Kontakt 6.6 VST3 in VEP7 7/24/2021 6:00:26 PM

Kontakt 6.6 isn't VST3 only.  The VST version of 6.6.0 still runs in VE Pro.

It is, however, a little ironic that VE Pro is available as a VST3, but doesn't support them.

3.VEP 7 - Instruments with Multi Outputs 6/27/2020 9:10:14 PM

Ahhh, ok, now I get it.  It's all about the order the interfaces are presented to VEP by the VI.

So, for instance, in BFD3, my first 8 interfaces are my stereo pairs.  They show up in the DAW exactly as you'd expect.

My next 8 are mono, but VEP just gets the same signal on both channels of a stereo pair.  When I get back into my DAW, the 8 monos show up as stereos, but I can just take the left or right channel of the pair if I want a single pan knob.

That works.

OK, that's straightforward enough for the stereo outs.  That works like a champ.

But those monos ... does anyone know how to do that?

Trying to route monos into stereos and split them into mono later seems unnecessarily complicated.  Plus, I only have 8 actual stereo outs on BFD3.  Those get eaten up pretty quickly if that's all I have to use.  I'd like to just use the mono outs for mono, if I can.

5.VEP 7 - Instruments with Multi Outputs 6/27/2020 1:16:02 PM

I'm missing something conceptually, and I haven't been able to find it in the documentation or on the foum, and I'm hoping someone can explaint to me how to do what I'm trying to do.

I have several instruments that have multiple outputs of varying formats.  For instance, in Kontakt, I'll have instruments that have several pairs of stereo outputs.  In BFD3, I'll have mixtures of outputs, some stereo, and some mono.  These are for direct mono signals, stereo pairs of near or far mics, mono overheads, etc.

My issue is that I don't see how to create channels in VE Pro that map to these outputs.  If I have multiple instances of, for instance, Kontakt, then I can assign each main stereo out to it's own output channel in VE Pro.  But that's not the issue.  The question is how to access any of the outputs of each instance individually.

I have good reasons for doing this.  A kick drum might be used to trigger a side-channel on the compressor of a recorded (i.e. non-virtual) instrument, or several instruments.  I may need to automate in my DAW the balance near and far mics in order to emphasize or make a part recede.  It's not something I can do without, or work around.
