I converted to iLok some time ago and never had this issue until recently. In order to send the project, do I just send the .vsp64 file without any of the plugins?

VE Pro 7.2.1515, but it happened on the previous one or two versions as well...

After a reboot, I launch VE Pro Server and tell it to open a server project. The project begins to load, but after a few seconds, I get an alert that "The project you are trying to load is invalid." and all the plugins in all the channels of all the instances show the name of the plugin in red italics with exclamation points at both ends of the name. I quit VEP and relaunch it and tell it to open the same server project and everything loads just fine. Subsequent loads work fine as well, it's just right after a reboot that the problem occurs.

Thanks, Dave. I hadn't seen that there was a new version until I saw your post. I have installed the new version and MAS seems to be working just fine now with DP. Thanks for the post!

I have experienced the exact same issue, not only with Kontakt, but also with the Orchestral Tools Sine instrument. As you have found, creating a new instance seems to resolve it. There seems to be some sort of graphics display bug when loading some plugins.

I manually uninstalled the current version of VEP using the uninstaller in the VEP folder and then downloaded and installed the .1263 version, also for iLok, using the link below, not Vienna Assistant. It all works wonderfully, now!

I used the info in daerp's message above and rolled back to 7.1.1263 and it's all working now!

Perhaps it's an M1 or Monterey (or both) thing, but following your steps exactly worked fine for me.

Unfortunately, I only have the iLok version and can't access the older downloads.

Interesting. I just recently purchased VEP7, so the only version I have is the new iLok version. I did use the Vienna Assistant to do the VEP installation.

The MAS plugins for VEP show in the DP Plug-ins window in DP Preferences. There are two of them (Vienna Ensemble Pro and Vienna Ensemble Pro Audio Input). However when you try to actually add a plugin to a project, only the first one (Vienna Ensemble Pro) shows as an option. Because of all the issues I've had with the MAS version, I have disabled both plugs in DP.

I also have both Synchron Player and Synchron Harp and neither of those show as an MAS plugin, just AU and VST.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it's not the buffer. Changing the buffer size makes no difference in this scenario. We're talking not just massive latency, but huge numbers of data dropouts. I can press a MIDI key 4 or 5 times and only get one or two notes to actually sound. Then one of them invariably has the note-off message dropped, so I end up with a stuck note. Besides, the buffer setting works exactly as you would expect when I use the AU or VST version of the VEP plugin. It's just the MAS that seems to be totally hosed for me.

Yes, I'm using the iLok version 7.1.1298. I also took the time to do total clean reinstalls of both DP and VEP on the chance there was some sort if hidden issue between the two. Unfortunately, that didn't make any difference. See my other post in this same forum about VEP and DP causing the computer to go to sleep even while I'm using it. At this point, color me unimpressed. And just to be clear, it's on an Intel machine, not an M1.

I'm using the latest versions of both VEP and Digital Performer on a Mac MINI OS 11.6.5. When I try to use the MAS plugin to connect to the server, I get horrible latency and data drops. I can press a key on my MIDI keyboard several times before it actually triggers a note and then it's delayed by about a half second. It also frequently misses the note-off messages so I get a lot of stuck notes. Connecting with either the AU or VST plugin works fine. Am I doing something wrong? I thought the MAS plugin would work even better within the DP environment.

Oops, I spoke too soon. It just took longer, but using the AU plugin, it also went to sleep. I'm using two instances in VEP7. One instance has 10 Synchron player instruments and the other instance has just 1 Kontakt instrument, but it has 12 articulations loaded.

And just in case you are wondering, hot corners are turned off. When it happens, the computer becomes completely non-responsive until it is fully asleep (silent, no fan noise, etc.). Then, and only then, I can wake it and everything is still open and working. However, it starts happening more and more frequently once it happens the first time.

This MAY be an issue with the MAS plugin. I switched to the AU version and so far, everything seems to be working just fine.

I just installed VEPro 7 (7.1.1298) on my Mac MINI (2018, OS 11.6.5) and am connecting it to Digital Performer 11.04, on the same computer, using the MAS plugin. Ever since the installation, when I'm using the software, my computer randomly goes to sleep. I can't pinpoint any specific action that causes it--in fact, sometimes, I'm not doing anything at all--it just acts like I've selected the "Sleep" option from the Apple menu. When the computer wakes up, everything is still there, and working, so it hasn't crashed. However, it will keep falling asleep as I continue to try to use it. Makes VEP pretty unusable for me.

I'm having the same issue in Big Sur 11.6.5, newest version of VE 7.1.79

I just installed VE 7.1.79 on my Mac MINI (2018) OS 11.6.5 Big Sur and when I launch it, VE starts scanning plug-ins, but it never finds any and just keeps on scanning, and scanning, and scan... Clicking the "Skip" button does nothing. Clicking the "Cancel" button stops the scanning and allows VE to open, but it has to plugins with which to work.

Me also. I just installed the latest VE 7.1.79 via the Vienna Assistant and it keeps "Scanning plug-ins" without finding anything or continuing. I'm on a Mac MINI (2018) running OS 11.6.4 Big Sur.

Thanks, Paul. I was afraid of that. Given that only Clarinet 1 is missing the Vibrato dimension, this seems like a fairly major oversight in the product. Any chance this will be addressed in an update?
