1.How to test Vienna MIR PRO / MIR PRO 24.... AND all RoomPacks!! 4/5/2012 5:41:20 AM
The Trail Roompack is definitely for WIN only....then the TRY is meaningless to me...

I thought I could try MIR PRO 24 before purchasing it..sigh
2.MIR PRO VS MIR PRO 24 4/5/2012 4:33:51 AM
So does that mean that there's no way to have more than 24 instruments on the virtual stage at the same time? Or, if we could make 24 groups/instances which are individual routed into their own instruments, then more than 24 instruments are possible?

Could we buy MIR PRO 24 first and upgrade it to MIR PRO later?
3.MIR PRO VS MIR PRO 24 4/5/2012 2:57:56 AM
Dear Folks,

I have been thinking to buy MIR PRO but today got an email about the release of MIR PRO 24.
After reading some articles on the forum and others, I'm still not quite sure what's the difference between these two.
Is MIR PRO 24 actually a limited version (with a cheaper price) of MIR PRO? Or, MIR PRO 24 is an attached/expanded pack of MIR PRO?

Could you please help me to figure it out?

Thanks!!

4.a question about compressor 10/31/2010 9:10:42 PM
Dear Dietz, thanks for your reply!
For the boost part, I think I have no question due to your deliberation!
However, about the cut part, I still feel kind of confused.
If we make low cut to make the compressor less susceptible that means less compressor put on the low part so we can get rid of the strong "sss" and "shhh". That makes sense; however, in the similar way, if we make high cut to make the compressor less susceptible that means we make the high part more vivid?

I thought if we do high cut then the high range sounds even more flat and lifeless?
5.a question about compressor 10/28/2010 10:30:50 PM
Hi folks, i'm still improving my skills of mastering music and i'm reading the suite's manual again.

An explanation in the category of Compressor under Sidechain at page 8 is just kind of weird to me, and I excerpt it as below:

"Use high boost when you want to get rid of excessive high-freqency-content, e.g. Voices with strong “sss” and “shhhh”. Use the high cut when the signal's attacks begin to sound lifeless and flat, especially when using fast attack times."

Don't you think it has something wrong here?

I thought we should use high boost for getting sound vivid and not flat and use high cut to get rid of excessive high-freqency-content, and my understanding is just opposite to the teaching there. Is it wrong or I'm wrong?

I'm still very young in mastering music, so really need your help to figure the question out.

Thank you very much and have a sweet day!

6.Can only run Vienna Imperial in 32-bit? 7/10/2010 8:20:12 AM
I'm not sure but it seems after I updated my Snow Leopard to 10.6.4 and then I can run Vienna Imperial in 32-bit now.

I've tried to operate Imperial via both Vienna Ensemble Pro and Vienna Imperial, but it can't be successful anymore if it runs in 64-bit.

It keeps showing that "The selected position file could not be found." while the Directory Manager has been linked properly and all the installation and setting has been re-done by me again and again.

I'm using the new Mac Pro with 16 ram and 8 cores.

Both the OS and Logic 9 have been updated to the newest versions.

I'm looking forward to any of your suggestions to help me out.

Thanks!
7.[SOLVED] Please help me out...Please 5/8/2010 4:03:44 PM
I just figured it out...god, fortunately!

The problem is because the update of VE Pro.

The new VE Pro revised the control panel, so unlike I could leave the Midi in to Omni with no problem, now I need to set every Omni to chanel 1 to 8, which is required, or all the tracks using VE Pro will mass together!

It seems a stupid question but spent me 2 hours to figure it out...god
8.[SOLVED] Please help me out...Please 5/8/2010 3:18:58 PM

I'm not sure I can post this here...but I really need your help.
Something just happens to me and I have no idea why it happens.
I just upgraded kontakt 3 to 4 and also a series of upgrades of some latest versions from PLAY, VE Pro, Vienna Imperial etc.
Now when I open the project I'm working on, the playback is normal but when I play my keyboard every track sounds together!!!
It's trrible to me but i even don't know how to fix the problem.
Please help me out, I'm using Logic 9!! I really appreciate!!

9.can vienna imperial be opened by ensemble pro? 5/8/2010 9:20:33 AM
Hi, I've tried the link you offered a couple of hours but all the downloading of the website seems dead.

I only get the message when I try to download the latest versions of VE PRO and Vienna Imperial.

404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Could you please help me out?

Thanks a lot!
10.can vienna imperial be opened by ensemble pro? 5/8/2010 3:23:27 AM
Just received my imperial and start enjoying it!

I would like to know if imperial can be plugged on Vienna Ensemble Pro(either 32 bit or 64 bit)? Or only the Vienna Ensemble is possible for plugging it?

Besides, is the Imperial 64 bit now as the other program like the Special Edition?

Thanks!
11.I have a question about the Brass I Bundle 5/6/2010 7:51:44 PM
I'm lookign for the trombone sample can play glissandos well.

Here's the sample content ecerpted from the Tenor Trombone of Brass I

Performance glissandos, fast and slow, minor 2nd to diminished 5th
Fixed glissandos, fast, minor 2nd to diminished 5th, up and down
Fixed glissandos, slow, minor 3rd to diminished 5th, up and down
Please note that fixed glissandos have different up and down ranges.

What does performance glissandos? Does it mean we can choose the starting and ending pitches in different tempos?

It seems the performance glissando has only two kinds of tempos: fast and slow, is my understanding correct?

I feel kind of disappointed about the Harp boundle which I ordered 4 days ago and just received it yesterday.

The description in the glissando category in the sample content says:

All speeds, major, minor, diminished, pentatonic, and whole tone

But catually it does not have all speeds but 3 speeds which are fast, medium, and slow.

I thought all speeds mean we can get all kinds of tempos by controller or somthing when I ordered it, and besides, the range of glissando has very limited register and we don't have many choices on the starting pitch.

I've already registered the Harp Bundle and would like to know if there's any chance I can return it and get the refund?

Anyone has this experience with VSL?

Thanks!
