It's a no go with Mojave not wanting to run an earlier vr of VE. My only hope is running the two different versions respectively and stll being able to network (which as you say doesn't work.) My network isn't squared away just yet so can't experiment with that at the moment.

So I need the *exact* same version on both machines I take it. I see that earlier versions are avaiable at MyVSL. Here's hoping that an earlier version of 6 meant to work with Mountain Lion works on Mojave.

I'm working with an old sequence with templates from the original VI player which have now been converted to VI Pro. Back then when you layered two instruments in adjacent slots they would both sound simultaneously unless you deliberately set them up to crossfade (correct?). Now those two instruments show up in slots 1a and 1b but do not sound simultaneously when not set to crossfade. Do I solve this by moving the instrument in 1b to 2a? I'm hoping I don't have to go through and edit a large template this way (i.e. hoping I'm doing something wrong.)

EDIT: Well, some of my old layered patches are showing up layered correctly in 1a and 2a so maybe it was my intention to have instruments available to crossfade. The thing is that I caught the problem because things weren't playing back correctly (notes that should have an accented sample layered with a sustain in the 1a -1b arrangement) Anyway I'll get it sorted.

I'm still having the issue of faders dropping to 0 on my VSL WInds Project when I enable the VEP5 plugin in DP 8.

I am hoping that the latest update will fix that but I see the update is an AU update (don't see an MAS update.) Do I download the AU update of VEP5 and it will update the MAS version? I have the correct settings in DP with AU disabled etc. Is this the way to go?

I'm having a problem with MAS VE (latest vr.) After I have loaded my VE Metaframe, my VSL Winds Project drops all the channel faders in the VE mixer to 0 and pans everything hard left. This happens when I enable or disable the audio (radio button) in DP. A few weeks ago it only did a few channels on the far left and now it does it to every channel. It doesn't effect the Kontakt Loaded projects, only my VSL Winds which only has VSL on it.

Anybody else have something like this happening?

I haven't been able to completely turn off the reverb that comes with the VI Player. One of my controllers {15} that I use for the Y axis always turns it on even if I select 'None' on the 'Reverb Dry/Wet' slider. The manual doesn't seem to address this specifically.

I don't think I had a demo license on my Mac Paul, just (as now) two licenses for WW's I+II extended. Now here is something interesting: I had recently removed the WW I license and moved it back to an old PC as an experiment. I forgot to move it back to the Mac but yet I have been loading those sounds and running them lately on the Mac - with no license! So I don't know what is going on. Does that mean I had must have had a demo license that was even allowing me to run a DVD collection? It must not be a coincidence that both VE Pro stopped launching and WW I both stopped loading today.

Happy to send you a screen shot of my elicenser if that will help. It just shows the WW I+II licenses. I upgraded to the latest elicenser vr today as well.

Paul, I've been running VE pro on three PC's which have the licenses. I have been running VE pro server on my DAW (DP/Mac Pro) and loading VSL Woodwinds with only the licenses for those collections. I have not been prompted for a VE Pro license (for months now)  since I am not running it standalone but today suddenly the license controller is asking for a VE Pro licensee and I'm shut down. Can you explain? (sorry about font it just went whacky on me and don't know why)

• Having lots of clicks and pops here with v4.1 (latest build.) Both on my external PC's and my Mac quad core. I have very good drive allocation of samples so it's not that. It clicks and glitches regularly with even a single instrument playing. As someone said it seems to happen during note transitions. I don't think I ever had this happening on regular VE on 4 different computers but with VE Pro it happens on every instance on every computer that is steaming even just one instrument.

Thanks Darrel. I'm not quite sure how to do that without a license for the master machine (i.e. open an instance of VE pro and load my VFrames.)

I recently bought VE Pro and a Mac Pro to run it. Will I be able to load my VSL DVD and other libraries on 4 machines now? Three slaves and one host? I want to run:

1. VSL WW's on Host

2. VSL Brass on Slave

3. VSL Strings on Slave

4. Non VSL VST's such as as Play on Slave.

Is this what the 3 licenses that come with VE Pro allows for? As long as I run VE Pro within my host DAW (Digital Performer)?

It's very strange that with so many brass collections (5 or more?) there isn't a single straight mute in the thousands and thousands of samples produced by VSL. 

I just picked up a computer from a friend that has XP 64. He was running VE Pro so it doesn't have a sound card. I don't have VE Pro yet because I have a G5. So I want to use one of my Profire Lightbridges and would like to know if anyone one has it working on XP 64. M-Audio suggested a driver they have but it didn't work so maybe someone here might have the right driver and can tell me.

For anyone who has this issue: there is a beta driver at M-Audio. However they tell you not to plug in the interface before you install the driver. The driver does not install though. You must turn on the interface and then point windows to the driver folder and Windows installs the driver.

Here is clarification: When a brass player sees "mutes" in his score he will will always apply straight mutes unless specified otherwise with directions like "harmon" or "bucket" or "plunger" etc. The default in the classical literature is a straight mute. In fact use of other mutes are rare when compared to the straight mute particularly in the first half of the 20th century.

No they are harmon mutes.I asked Herb a long time ago. If they had straight mutes I would be using them all the time.

Only Harmon mutes are available in VSL, no straight mutes. Harmon mutes are of course identified mainly with Jazz. Straight mutes with Classical. VSL obviously made this decision as their emphasis has always been on Jazz primarily with an occasional instrument intended for the orchestra ; )
