1.Any plans for new VSL 'Strings' Libraries ? 2/20/2010 10:50:17 AM

oh lala,

BTW - my favorite MIR-demo right now is this one, precisely because of the utter absence of conventional "reverb". :-)

chapeau ;-) !

I have a bricasti and looking forward to get MIR in the next couple years (my computer is too slow, aren't that sound familiar?)

best, imusic

2.The Death of Film Music 8/4/2009 9:19:53 AM

Hi Tanuj,

And this phenomena is not new - Most Classical composers like Mozart died broke and alone. The way we celebrate Mozart and Beethoven today - that dint happen when they were alive. So its a very crazy cycle - ONE - which we cannot control. All we can do is to try and do the best we can understanding the past knowldge that the greats have left and putting a firm step forward into the future - composing the very finest of music we can.

Well, I was not exactly there but Mozart/Beethoven were not poor - they were only no businessman - in our days if you are in music it is almost only business anymore because we have hardly royalties who support art :-) !

It is true, great talents are not born everyday and a lot of people do stuff in which they are at best mediocre but hey, if it pays the bills  -  why not :- ?!

best, andy

3.PCI e (card) or Fireface 800 ?! 6/2/2008 8:39:47 AM
dear friends from VSL,

I am going to replace a couple of things in my studio !

Is the PCI e card really much better in performance than the Fireface ? My system could look like that

MacPro with PCI e card (RME)
MacPro possible with VI3 (even I would like to stay on VI1)
MacPro with Protools HD with Madi or ADAT

what you think ? Your input is very welcome !!!

12.Addressing 8gig of RAM using 2 G5s for Vienna Instruments.. 4/18/2006 11:27:00 PM
There is currently no way (so far I know) to address more than 4GB RAM in Panther or Tiger. The limit will fall probably with Leopard the same applies I guess with Windows Vista. Well in the meantime you have to work with 4GB inside of an application (that's why the made the VI server AU stuff I guess again Cool ?!)

13.VI - Routing through GigaPulse 2/21/2006 1:04:42 PM
Hi Christian,

well, please don't be ridiculous with the (investment) of 250 USD, how much is your cube?

I think it should be clear the hardware is simply not able to run the full MIR specification at this point and this is a major reason why everything is going to take some more time!

Please, this is not an insult to you but more a statement to explain something, ...

best regards, imusic Big Smile

15.Informations to VIP prices 11/28/2005 9:11:45 AM
well, it's called this way,... You always have to pay if you are the first to get the stuff. Let me tell it this way, I have seen the stuff in Munich and have to admit it's great but I do not need 24bit right now I even can life with my Pro Edition. I just have the fear with the new LOGIC, the Performance Tool is no longer available, ... (hopefully not!!!)

I eventually will end up with the new stuff with a higher price compared to a brand new user but I have both!

This time I am the one who will wait until it's MULTITIMBERAL and otners do the beta testing for me [Wink] ! And best of all, I am pretty shure, there is a new holiday sale or summer sale in 2007 Big Smile !

my 2cts, imusic Cool
16.Informations to VIP prices 11/27/2005 9:18:22 AM
Am I right or do I need help with the price?

I own the complete PRO package and the chamber strings plus some more,...

Is my price now 5300.00 Euro minus 3790.00 Euro minus 565.00 Euro (945.00Euro)
or Am i completely wrong? If this is the case it would be more than fair, if not I am clueless (everything up to 2000 Euro is ok)!

cheers, imusic
