Wow, a week later and not a peep is heard from VSL.

When I bought their full Synchron library I was told they had great customer support.

Synchron Piano Load Preset Screen not finding presets I placed into appropriate folder. 

I did create my own user preset which is also located there, which it sees.

The load GUI seems broken since I get no response when I attempt to search for the folder or click on the folder seen at the top.

BTW, the Steinway sounds wonderful. Its now my goto piano for all my ScoreClub exercises.

I deleted a Synchron piano (Yamaha) after buying and installing  the Steinway.

But the Yamaha icon still shows up in the Synchron piano player. How do I correct this? Thanks!

Does the basic expression map control all articulations /expressions that the Solo Violin Synchron Player is capable of? If not, I may consider making my own custom map for the FULL version

I am using Dorico 4 Pro with the current VSL for Dorico expression maps. I have a short exercise that uses VSL Solo Strings. And I am using the VSL Solo Strings playback template. The Solo Violin Basic Velocity VF sus patch plays the score correctly. But when I switch to using the Solo Violin FULL VelXF sus patch, suddenly Im hearing slurs played back as tremolos. What the heck is going on?  :)

This is the third time ILOCK has randomly shut down my Cloud Session for my Synchron Player  over the last few months. Why does it do this how how can it be prevented? Thanks.

Once again my many VSL libraries are not visible to the Synchron Player.

The last time this happened I was told here that ILOCK was down. I noticed there was a new version of ILock Manger so I installed it hoping it would fix this problem.

I checked ILock and it seems fine. The external drive they are located on seems fine. But no libraries appear on either the stand alone or the plugins Ive been using for several months in Studio One (running Rosetta).

PROBLEM SOLVED by Presonus Tech Support. At one point or another I was exploring  the Control Link function and recorded a Midi Learn for the 4 cc faders on The Sparrow. This apparnetly diverts the data to the functions I learned so the Synchron player would not get them. Hats off to Lawrence at Presonus for a quick response and a fast solution.  :)

Enclosed is 2 Studio One 6 files for  Orchestral Recipe #5 (great tutorials!). One uses MIR Pro 3D and one does not. I tried using The Sparrow to add cc data to the tracks, but ended up using the paint tool to do it manually.

The Facebook group I am referring to that has a quote from another personal having the same issues as I is the VSL Users Group - Vienna Symphonic Library. Enclosed is a screen grab of his post.

Yes, the controller works with every  VST in Studio One EXCEPT the Synchron Players  (I tested the VST3, VST 2 and the AU versions). But like I said, the stand alone version of the Synchron Player works great. There is a post on one of the Facebook VSL groups from another VSL owner who says he has the same exact problem.

Important test! The stand alone Synchron Player responds  CORRECTLY to the external midi controller. All the Synchron Player VST plugins in Studio One DO NOT.

Since all midi control functions work with all vsts except SP, its pretty clear that this problem is with the SP.

I will let them know the issue, but Im pretty sure they will agree with my above evaluation. So for now for now Im giving up on ever controlling SP with a midi controller. Ive spent way to much timed and energy trying to trouble shoot it.

This screen show the SP screen and at the top the Sparrow is connected and there is evidence of it getting cc data from the Sparrow.

This screen shows the Midi Utility screen and the active midi controllers.

And this screen shot shows the External Controller area and the Sparrow controller.

Here are 2 screen captures.

1. This shows midi data from the Sparrow. (Even though Faderport 8 appears in the upper right area of the SP, when doing extensive testing, the Sparrow is ALWAYS selected in various places as the midi controller source.)

2. This shows the Sparrow successfully controlling functions in Studio One.

Thank you very much Paul. Im not sure if you folks can help. I just open a new song in Studio One 6, instantiate the Synchron Player, select any instrument  and try the faders on the Sparrow midi controller fader, which is programmed to control the first 4 cc controls of the SP.  Ive tried creating a new keyboard controller for the Sparrow controller in the External Controller menu of Studio One and 1 out of 50 times it works for a short period of time. FYI, I can use the Sparrow to control any other VSTs various functions with no problem at all. So theres really nothing I can send you thats unique to my system. I had this same problem with the Expressive' Touche' controller as well. Ive also tried booting Studio One both with and without Rosetta and that doesnt make any difference, the problem remains. This same problem occurs with the TEC BC2 breath controller.

It was enabling 'MIDI 2.0' in Logic that was causing all the bugs in Synchron Player.

I wonder if there is a similar function in Studio One I can alter?

YES! This exact same thing is happening to me on my Mac Studio Max with Studio One and Synchron Player. I have good data flowing from the Sparrow Fader controllers into Studio One. But SP doesnt respond. I am also running Rosetta so I can take  advantage of the Sound Variation link between SP and Studio One.

So I call up another project to work on, and SP is not responding again. CRAP!

Well, I guess the External Controller file got corrupted. When I created a new external controller (keyboard) file, every started moving. Yayyy!

 Yesterday I used my Sparrow 4 Fader midi controller to add Expression to my midi tracks in Studio One 6.  I programmed the slider 2 channel for cc11 (expression) on the Synchron Player and it worked great.

Today I called up the same project and the Synchron Player doesnt respond. I checked the Studio one Midi Monitor and there is good data flow. On the track I have selected The Sparrow as the midi controller source. And the the Preferences/ External Midi Controller file for the Sparrow is still there.

 The connection to the fader is good. Studio One indicates it is getting signal when I move the slider, but the Synchron Player just sits there and doesnt move. The LEARN function doesnt work either. Ive tried VST 3 (my usual) and VST 2 with no difference.

I have successfully used the fade with SP yesterday. FWIW Im on a Mac Studio running Rosetta (with no hitches) for weeks.
