Referring to the attached screenshot, I'm assuming the asterisks after the Role names along with the disk icons mean they have not been saved. Clicking on the disk icons doesn't do anything. I can save the Venue preset but not the Role presets. What am I missing?

I'm puzzled by the new MIR 3D. I can't figure out the new preset system. Is there somewhere a conceptual overview of it and an explanation of how to create, save, and recall presets?

In the VA Prefernces there is a setting for download only mode. Select that and download VEPro again. The installer will be in your Downloads folder. Double-click it and go and you'll be back to normal.

Try a download-only followed by a manual install. It worked for me on Mac.

I just installed the VEPro 7 update to 7.1.1245 and the Vienna Ensemble Pro VST is removed and NOT re-installed with the update. The Surround Pro version is the only one installed.

I had to restore the Vienna Ensemble Pro VST3 from a TimeMachine backup to be able to work at all. Seriously hampered because VEP Event Input and VEP Audio Input are also NOT installed.

How can I revert to the previous working version? What do you suggest?

From Dorico and Digital Performer:

This is my first foray into VEPro 7 automation. I'm trying to emulate a silk-covered snare. In VEPro I have an EQ on the snare drum channel strip. When the EQ is bypassed, I get the regular snare sound and when it is active, I get the simulated silk-covered sound.

In Dorico I would like a Performance Technique, "Silk-covered snare", to activate the EQ in the VEPro channel strip.

Looking at the Automation Parameters in VEPro there doesn't seem to be a way to access the EQ insert.

Is it possible to automate inserts in VEPro, and if so, how?

I can pretty reliably crash VEP7 by deleting a Stereo Panner. I filled out the popup with that info and my email address.

In VEPro7 Server I have 3 instances, Winds, Brass & Rhythm. Is it possible to have a 4th instance that can be a mixer for the other three so that I can have one mix board that mixes Main Outs from the other 3 instances?

I have an articulation question. There are two Synchron Player choices for staccato: bold and agile . If I put staccato dots on notes, they play back with bold . How do I specify agile playback in Dorico?

I would love to have Vienna libraries available for StaffPad!

Right now it's StaffPad>MusicXML>Dorico+VEPro and I'd love to stay in SP until it's time to format the score and parts.

I wanted to store my Synchron Player presets on my external sample libraries disk and this is what worked for me:

Path to actual preset folder on the disk: /Volumes/Sample Libraries/VSL/Vienna Synchron Player/VSL/Vienna Synchron Player/Presets

Set this path in the Synchron Player Database window: User Presets Folder: /Volumes/Sample Libraries/VSL/Vienna Synchron Player

This seems bizarrely convoluted and it took me a while to figure it out. I hope this helps someone.

I believe Steinberg and VSL are in a dialog about expression maps for Dorico 3.

If you use the Cubase maps, in the Dorico Expression Map Editor you will need to add a Natural Playing Technique to each map.

I have all my VSL and other samples on an external APFS SSD and have had no problems whatsoever. APFS is a much more modern and robust file system than HFS+.

In Terminal, I ran the command "sudo trimforce enable" to make sure Trim was enabled.

I'm just starting to use the Synchron Strings with Dorico and I'm using the Cubase Expression Maps for Synchron Strings v.1.

I've discovered that the Dimensions Tree of the First violins is different than that of the Seconds. 

This appears to be a new user error!

Being curious, I just tried it with DP on the Airbook running the VEP plugin and VEP Server on the iMac and it worked!
