2.Hearing a Flange in SYNCHRON STRINGS PRO 10/21/2020 7:14:46 AM

Hi All,

I just bought the Synchron Strings Pro crossgrade and installed it. I am running Synchron player in Logic and have loaded up the factory patches. When I am playing notes on the long articulations I am getting this very evident and strong Flanging / Phasing effect especially on legato patches. This is not happening in the Synchron 1 set.

I have tried switching on and off the reverb, also soloed the different mic and checked different combinations, also tried to delete and reinstall the library after downloading it again, also reinstalled the synchron player, yet this issue is still present.

Please guide as to what might be happening ?

Thanks and regards

Neelesh

3.How to open VEP with MIRPRO startup animation 5/15/2020 4:53:02 AM
Hello all,

This might be a slightly trivial question, but when I had initially bought VEP6 and Mir Pro and started it with my server project I used to get the cool Mir Pro channel initialization animation. After upgrading to VEP7 I only get to see the mixer page while initializing and then I can switch to Mir Pro view but this way am not able to see the cool animation. Is there a way in the settings to keep my mir pro view at the start and get the animation ?

Thanks and regards

4.Sound of bounce changes to what I hear in the daw 10/5/2018 6:10:01 PM

My guess would be that your keyswitches are perfectly aligned with the notes. In my experience, the order of MIDI events in this case is not guaranteed with Cubase starting at least with 8.x versions. Usually, the keyswitch gets in before the note it controls, but it's not 100%. If the guess is correct, try to move keyswitches a few ticks below the actual notes, and check the bounce results.

Cheers,

Crusoe.

Thanks Crusoe and everyne else for their suggestions. I do notice that issue with the keyswitches, so I usually keep them a few ticks etc before the change is supposed to hit.... maybe I am missing it out and keeping it really close to the notes in the sections that i feel arent that great, ill check that and see how it turns out to be...

thanks a lot again everyone

cheers

5.Sound of bounce changes to what I hear in the daw 9/22/2018 10:30:27 AM
Hi Jasensmith,

I do use the fader controls, use a lot of them Infact including humanise functions, vel xf, slot xf, expression, also use note velocity for staccatos and short notes etc. Standard programming skills are fine for me i think.

I have not used the optimise learn feature. I feel it is maybe unnecessary because I use the load upon activity option in my template for vsl samples. Maybe I am wrong and i should use the optimise function tok, will try next time.

My main issues comes for any kind of bounce. I usually do bounce all stems at once from the track export in Cubase. And also i bounce the stereo mix from the template as a separate bounce. I hear the music one way and very natural while in the daw, and once i export and listen back to the audio it seems a bit less natural and slightly programmed and robotic. I am a bit unsure what it is i am doing different / wrong. Also I can't really show any example of this weird issue.

Any tips?

Thanks and regards

6.Sound of bounce changes to what I hear in the daw 9/20/2018 3:01:06 PM
Hello All,

I am sorry if this is a very basic question and has been asked here before. I use keyswitching in my templates. While I do production and program using products from Vienna cube, I feel they sound perfect and very natural. But when i bounce down stems or do a stereo bounce ( I do offline bouncing mainly) i feel the sound changes and the performance feels less natural. I use VI pro and Vienna ensemble ( non pro) and cu ase 9.5.

Are there any guidelines for me to follow before the stemming or exporting process?

Thanks everyone.

7.How to setup Vienna Remote App or touch screen application like lemur for large templates 7/6/2018 4:20:36 AM
Hello everyone,

I might be re iterating something which has already been discussed earlier, but I haven't found any particularly good solution for this yet. I am hosting multiple instances of Vienna instruments pro on Vienna ensemble for a large. Orchestral template of around 100 tracks. Have separated shorts and longs etc etc...

I have understood how the remote app talks to various slave machines etc, but I notice that the application doesn't update the change to a new instrument until i go to the Vienna ensemble and click on the control me option on the VI instance that I want to control. This in turn kind of increases the number of steps involved and is having me take longer time than using keyswitches.

Is there any way i can do this better?

Is there any success for anyone alternatively using lemur for doing this? I really am looking to get touch screen working for my articulation changes etc for my vsl samples.

Thanks and regards

11.Transferring VI patches to VI Pro 12/3/2017 6:55:54 AM

Hello All,

I just got myself Vienna Instruments Pro. I had Vienna Instruments free player and Vienna Ensemble before, and I painstakingly made my template using those. Is there any way now to transfer all those patches and settings into VI Pro without dooing the process all over again??

Thanks

12.What is the most common panning everyone uses for their templates 8/18/2017 9:42:31 AM

Hey guys,

I just bought the vienna symphonic cube and apassionata strings. I am having a tough time in balancing the template and balancing the panning of the orchestra, my template is becoming a bit heavy on the left side mostly due to the panning of Appasionata Violins to the left, but reducing the gain makes it unbalanced WRT the volume balance. I have been going through all the online resources etc(including Beat Kauffman), but I hope to get some guidance on this topic and what are the general practices that all of you guys are taking for getting that balance.

Any knowledge share would be greatly apppreciated! :)

13.Vienna Ensemble-Names of instances not loading in cubase pro 9 template 6/19/2017 8:41:53 AM

Hello all,

I am new to VSL and its software. I have been making a template in cubase pro 9 using VE (not pro yet) and VI hosted on my main computer. I have used rack instrument and been using 16 channels per instance for VE. I have used separate instances for each instrument group and have named all channels accordingly and instances accordingly. I have also saved VE instances as per the instrument groups for example woodwinds.viframe64 . When i close the cubase project and reopen it, the template is loading fine, with all routings in place, but when I access VE server it only shows Vienna Ensemble 5.4.15962 (64 Bit) (connected localhost) for all instances and it is quite difficult to re-write all the instance names each time. How do i solve this ?

Thanks in advance

Neelesh
