1.When freezing or committing in PTHD, VE track is blank 11/19/2019 9:30:08 PM

Really? No one? Any of the VSL people? Paul?

2.When freezing or committing in PTHD, VE track is blank 11/16/2019 8:10:50 PM

Hey guys, I have a stylus RMX loop going on in VE pro. (no midi notes trigerring from PT, only playback starts/stops loop) When I commit, or freeze the track a black track is created. (NO audio is being printed...)

3.PT HD 2018.7 9093 errors constantly with VE Pro 10/15/2018 11:58:15 PM

No response for a whole week? Anyone at Vienna wanting to chime in with this serious issue?

4.PT HD 2018.7 9093 errors constantly with VE Pro 10/11/2018 6:17:49 PM

Hey guys, I'm on the latest version of both. I get MAD errors and can't really work.

When I disable VE server track(s) in PT, all problems go away.

Would love some help!

Hi Paul, strangely- I can't find the one I'm referring to... Totally vanished.

Check out the original post here along with the video that shows behavior...

Thanks Paul, I emailed a few weeks ago, got the usual VE automated 'we received your email" and nothing else.

BUMP!

PLease guys, I've emailed support and heard NOTHING. This is a real problem.

8.VE bumps CPU usage in PT HD A LOT. 3/14/2018 4:34:33 AM

Hey guys, I thought this was resolved, but the problem persists...

This instance of VE isn't doing much, but in PT, that channel bumps PT CPU usage by almost 30% and results in frequent freezes in PT...

I've already built the template from scratch, swapped all VST plugs with AU and still at this.

Here's a video showing behaviour and usage:

Please advise,

9.2 IDENTICAL systems, VE sees different plugins on slave rig 12/14/2017 5:04:38 AM

Hey guys, I have two IDENTICAL rigs for protools and VE pro slave. On the slave rig, sometimes VE 'sees' some plugs and sometimes it doesn't. Mainly waves and slate trigger. Anyone has a solution?

10.VE crashes protools EVERY time 12/13/2017 9:00:59 PM

I have a mix session that, for the last couple of days, crashes protools when I close it.

I've narrowed it down to VE pro (the local instance).

I've reinstalled both protools AND VE pro, created a new user and nothing helps. This session is DOA.

Also- in the process of reinstalling, now the VE channels that had waves plugs on them, come back as errors. (waveshell) I need help getting this working again AND getting the waves channels back to their original settings.

Please advise,

What about Mac people?

12.A TON of pops and clicks from remote server 12/8/2017 4:51:51 PM

You may have missed what I was saying. The 2 computers ARE directly connected.

You could try a test. You said one machine is directly connected. Maybe just plug this one in to the direct connection. If the issue goes away, then it is probably your switch, nic driver, or maybe even your network cable.

You can also open up performace monitor on the slave and look at the network traffic graph. If you see drops and bumps pretty much in sync with your artifacts, you can pretty much bank on it being something with a nic driver, switch, cable, etc. At least that has been my experience. It's not very often that it was actually something with VEP, otherwise we would all have the problem.

I’m on Sierra 10.12.5, PT HD native 12.8.1, and the master Mac is a late 2012 12 core with 24gb of ram.
14.VE in protoolsHD bumps CPU by 40% even when VE isn’t launched 12/8/2017 7:28:54 AM

VE has been spiking my CPU in PT for a while now but today I forgot to launch VE server and VE plug in PT still bumps the CPU by over 40%. That’s gotta be wrong, right?? I’m on Sierra 10.12.5, PT HD native 12.8.1, and the master Mac is a late 2012 12 core with 24gb of ram. Running PT at 1024 buffer.

Here's a short video demonstrating what's happneing:

15.A TON of pops and clicks from remote server 12/8/2017 2:02:42 AM

Hey guys, this has been a problem for a while and has still not been resolved...

I have 2 VE server sessions running in tandem with ProTools HD. (one is local, one is remote)

The 2 MacPro's are networked direcrly with each other- no switch.

The CPU usage is fairly low. This happens when plugins are bypassed as well. This ONLY happens from remote session, not the local one. The audio is audio coming from protools into VE and back into an aux track in PT.

The audio coming back from the remote server ALWAYS has pops and clicks on it and on softer songs, it's a real problem.

Anyone else experiencing this? Advice?

16.MUST have- counter! 10/31/2017 1:05:48 AM

Hey guys, the workflow in VE could be exponentially enhanced by a counter that shows when playback begins/stops/resumes. This is a real must when working on only one screen...

17.SEVERE latency with Audio Input going back into protools 9/11/2017 10:02:56 PM

So... 2125 is exacly what the SSL channel strip from UAD is reporting... And that's on the track that's sending from VE.

Why are these 2 clashing???

18.SEVERE latency with Audio Input going back into protools 9/11/2017 9:28:39 PM

Hey guys, same setup I've had for months now... Today, all of a sudden, ALL audio coming back from VE (into Protools HD) is SUPER late. Even with no plugs at all, just going through VE, comes back SUPER late.

VE is 2125 samples late.

Anyone??

19.Preserved versus UNpreserved 8/29/2017 5:17:09 PM

Thanks Paul, any DSP (CPU) benefits?

If you are not using VE PRO to load sample, but rather for mixing, then your instance with your routing and FX will stay available, when preserved (might also save you a little time, depending on the size and complexity of your instance).

Paul

20.Preserved versus UNpreserved 8/28/2017 10:52:23 PM

Hey guys, I've read SO much about it, but am still unclear on the differences between preserved and unpreserved.

I have a VE instance that I use in mixing, (with Protools HD) so no samples loaded (other than some triggers)

What's the advantage of one over the other? Downsides?

Would love some clarification on this...

21.creating Aux tracks to buss multiple channels to 8/22/2017 5:44:20 PM

Yes! What are you setting the output of the channels to? And what's the input to the aux track? (doesn't say in screenshot)

NEVERMIND- I just figured your example out. Once you create a new buss, you can send auxes to it!

That's not in the manual... I've been looking for this for years!

Thanks Paul, I'd like to create an aux track. ('buss')- I know how to do that.

Then, be able to send other tracks into it for parallel processing.

For instance- 5 tracks of loops, all sending to output 1+2 but also from the sends, send them all to another aux that has compression on it.

Does that make more sense?

WHy hasn't this been addressed yet, Paul?

I've read the manual and know how to do that. I've asked in the original post- how do I feed other channels into that aux channel? (like you would in PT)

I've scoured the manual AND the internet. Nothing about this:

How do you create a track in VE that'll be able to recieve other tracks into it through bussing?

(like an aux track in protools)
