I have Cubase 7.5 on Mac 64 bit, and I am using VE Pro on a slave PC with Hollywood Strings. Getting the same thing.

I don't get this with play when using Horns or Woodwinds on my DAW via VE Pro. Only when going through the network to and from my machine dedicated to Hollywood Strings.

No, but go figure. As a last resort I changed the cable, and it's working for the most part :/

Well, just set the PC and Mac to 9000k on the mac and jumbo frame on the PC. Didn't help.

I'm getting this EXACT same thing. My slave is a PC i7 nice processor, my slave is an i5 3570k, neither using too much memory or processor, but getting these (seemingly network) dropouts or surges.

I will try to see if I can figure out this packet thing in the meantime.

I know I'm drudging up a dead thread, but I'm having the same problem. Did you ever resolve this?

I'm using EW Hollywood Strings on my PC, nothing else is running, very little of the memory is being used, very little CPU, but I get the dropouts.

On the Mac (DAW) I can run Hollywood Brass and Woodwinds with now problem, all instruments at once, so it doesn't seem to be on the Mac end or the PC. Definitely seems network related somehow.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? I'm getting the exact same thing mass dropouts affecting all channels for a brief half a second.

The Mac Pro doesn't have wifi. I even tried going straight ethernet instead of through router, was still doing it.

Seems to have fixed, but oddly what fixed it was telling Kontakt to use cores, when I thought you weren't supposed to with VE Pro.

Latest update of VE Pro, using it as a slave on a Mac Pro.

When playing (even just one Kontakt instrument) I get random cut offs/dropouts (it cuts out and you can actually see the meter drop).

I've tried all kinds of different settings, including cores per instance, latency settings, etc.

Now, here's the kicker. It only does this in VE Pro. If I fire up Kontakt by itself, there are no dropouts at all.

But once in VE Pro I get drops outs when holding down sustain notes or at random spots.

Anyone else had an experience with this and know what I could fix or might be missing? It worked fine before, but just fire up the slave again after a long time of not using it, updated the VE Pro to most latest, and bam, doesn't work.

So, I will try to word this as best as possible. When I put Kontakt in VE Pro, is it best to put one instance of kontakt with 16 channels of samples, or should I create a new instance of contact within VE Pro for each sample I use and then start a new server for the next set if 16 samples? I have been doing it the latter, but I am wondering the best practice.
