    I've been using logic pro for a while to record and i decided to buy a few SYNCHRON-ized SPECIAL EDITION packages to get better sounds (and yes, i loved them), but when i try recording it doesn't work: if i switch articulations while recording it only records the midi info and plays with the last articulation that was selected.

    i'm obviously missing something but i can't figure out what!

    well i know what the key switches are - i used them to change articulations, the problem is during playback etc.

    It is only MIDI notes... maybe you are placing them in the wrong octave?

    just to clarify - i hear the notes, but not the articulation changes. whichever was the last articulation i used is how ihear the entire track

    Hello, thanks for your help. I started recording the file to send you but then i when i recorded with the key switches it works, like you said, so thanks. Two questions: Even after it's recorded if i hit one of the key switches it changes the playback. Is there any way to "set" it once it's recorded that it shouldn't change? I can't figure out how to record with the awesome piano. I have the player installed and i can play it and hear how it sounds but it doesn't show up in logic. Is there supposed to be a seperate logic plugin for it or is it all in the synchron player player? Thanks so much for your help

    I have answered your PM, but just to have the reply here as well: 

    Good to hear that this works now. 

    A1: I probably still don't understand. A keyswitch always only works for the next note, it is not "written into" the next note. If you place another keyswitch in a recorded MIDI file (also if you don't record it), the articulation will change. 

    A2: Did you check in the Plug-in Manager of Logic? Maybe Vienna Synchron Pianos need a manual validation.

    Keyswitches can be 'chased', which you should google rather than rely my writing ;)
    If you do not have the first KS before your first note in the sequence, it could still be seeing a later one and give you that indicated articulation, 'normally'. 

    They are 'latched' but any new KS, accident or what-have-you conveys via the connection; you could try writing the KS note as a long sustain throughout and see if that obviates what you describe,
