Check that a render folder is set, Status shows Ready and you have credits left. Then switch on Autorender or click Render on the performance.
It plays for more than 10 minutes with no break of 2 seconds. Give the performer a break, or split the passage across several Vienna Performer instances. No credits are used.
The render failed, and no credits are used. Hover the mouse over the performance. If the tooltip says that there are not enough credits left to render, buy top-up credits on the Vienna Performer page of My VSL and render it again. In other cases, Vienna Performer retries on its own if the render servers report when to try again. Otherwise, start another render.
You are not signed in. Click Sign in and log in with the VSL account that holds your Vienna Performer subscription (see Signing in). Renders that are already on disk still play.
You are signed in, but your VSL account has no active Vienna Performer subscription. To use Vienna Performer, buy a subscription on the Vienna Performer page. If you already have one, check under Account in the Status area that you are signed in with the VSL account that holds it.
Make sure you are connected to the internet with a stable connection and are not using a VPN, as it might block the connection. On macOS, also make sure your host application is allowed to access the local network. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network and switch it on for your DAW.
The performance is not rendered yet. Render it.
Play the changed passage with Capture on. If it still is not picked up, right-click the performance, choose Remove and capture it again.
Vienna Performer keeps a performance until the passage is captured again. Right-click it and choose Remove.
This is intentional, so that you notice the passages that are not rendered yet. Render all performances before you bounce (see Working in Your Host).
Check that it is inside the instrument's range and that it does not sound at the same time as another note.
Place the keyswitch at most 10 seconds before the first note (see Programming MIDI).
Lower it or fade it in with Expression (CC11). This does not need a new capture or new render and uses no credits (see Expression (CC11)).
CC1 is above 0, so the mod wheel sets the dynamics. Set CC1 to 0 at the beginning of the performance to play by velocity.
Small CC1 changes are ignored on purpose. Move the value clearly into the next dynamic level, then play the passage again with Capture on (see Dynamics).
This is expected. CC11 only changes the volume of the existing renders, so no new render and no credits are needed (see Expression (CC11)).
